US Navy Plays Barrett's Privateers While Leaving Halifax
Russian Ships sail into Havana, proving the futility of investing in Weapons. But we just keep allowing Sousa to inspire.
whats the context of the song?
It's a song about a Canadian ship during the American Revolution was commissioned by the King of England to act as a privateer and raid American ships. In their first battle, they found an American ship that they thought was loaded heavy with gold, due to how it sat in the water. After chasing it for two days, they opened up fire on it, only to realize the hard way that they'd been chasing a warship that greatly outgunned them.
hahaaaa legends
Play the original or nothing else.
Terrible, were you able to locate it? Do you know if cx3 has a built in gps to locate it? I have mine robbed at gun point.
No built in GPS, ours was recovered, total write off. Sorry to hear about yours!
@@KentRatke excellent 👍 thanks 👍
Those damn yankees
That’s a pretty impressive PA system
Idk why, my brain is imagining this as a perk jingle from CoD Zombies, just the ships enter combat or leave/enter port and they play a snippet from a song XD, especially the "Shed No Tears!" part really drives the jingle effect for me
Me moms maiden name is Barrett and when she listened to the song she laughed her butt off. To make an 85 yr old Irish woman laugh out loud is rare
assignment understood
😂😂
Should've been Stan Rodgers
And now you know that the crew went to the Lower Deck during shore leave....
This sounds like a threat. "Ask Barrett's Privateers what happens when you mess with America." Also, is that the Real Mckenzies cover?
B A S E D
is that the real mcjenzie's version of the song? It is not ol stan, but it is good
Your tax money hard wasted
How would that cost even 1 red cent? You just like being miserable. The Canadian Navy and Certain parts of the English crank this while cleaning the ships. Solidarity amongst the crew is priceless.
I love that song and this was great
This song is funny because it's about a canadian pirate ship getting rekked by a US ship
used to play north to alaska leaving seattle going on alsaka fisheries patrols then Seattle by bobby sherman coming back in. One time the CO played take this job and shove it lving san diego iam sure he caught heck for that.
That's brilliant.
They tried to show some respect and fucked it up. That should of been the voice of Stan Rogers.
Us navy ship blasts ironically un American song
Good on them, but Christ, they could have picked a better rendition.
The irony of a USN ship playing Barrett's Privateers does not escape meet. True class skipper.
Always nice when the CO has a sense of humor and history
I'm actually really upset they didn't play dear old stans version what the fuck is this
Love our brothers to the north : Really!l You tough sons of bitches! :)
A fine bit of trolling that is up to Royal Navy standards.
Worst version of Barrett's Privateers ever. Nice thought though.
Barrett's Privateers is a song about the War of 1812. This is just bragging.
Nope, first Stanza is "The year was 1778..." it is about the Revolutionary War.
@@johnshepherd8687 I am, in fact, stupid
@@jackblair9668 Your counter post has self refuted your claim.
Weird flex but ok
I wanna buy a large boat just to play that song on full blast
Nice thought. Great singer. Now deceased
They should have played the Stan Rogers version.
"hey remember that song where one of our ships totally wrecked one of yours???"
Like, I get naval traditions and all but I'm not sure if this is classy and respectful or just some cold blooded shit lol. "Thanks guys, jets a song about how some Canuck pirates tired picking a fight with 'murkua and got rekt."
True class act! Proud to call Americans our brothers and sisters!
I love how its the part of the song where an american ship blows a canadian ship out of the water XD
Takes my breath away for some reason, I love it.
this is excellent in every way. That Captain should be promoted beyond his peers.
Kinda tasteless and clueless for an USN ship to be playing this ... don’t you think?
If memory serves the antelope caught her in 2 whole days, not 3
Wasn't the song.... About going out to pirate amaricans ships?
Lol nice
Here's the exact song they were playing. ruclips.net/video/3Z3oCJfnHO8/видео.html
Technically it's MSC not the USN.
Classy move!
I love that song. It's still a staple to kareoke at any club we go to!
